Why Pizza Fusion wood fired pizza catering?
We provide more than just exquisite wood-fired pizza & food, we create an atmosphere & culinary experience that is unique, intimate and exceptionally memorable. Unlike many caterers, we cook fresh on-site. We work along with the flow of the event. We start out at a flying pace, eager to make sure each of your hungry guests taste a bite from the get-go. Throughout the event, when we notice any topping preferences in demand, we concentrate on those for a while. Then as bellies get fuller we slow things down until the request for ‘more’ comes to a halt.

How much will it cost to cater my Function?
Because every function is different, we do not have a single set price. Pricing varies depending on the type of event, menu selection, number of guests, location and other function details. Please use our contact form for a quote.
Please note that due to the high demand of our catering services, we cannot commit to all functions. The earlier you are able to inquire about our services, the better chance of your date being available.
What is included in your pricing?
We will bring along a staff of 3-6; depending on the size and needs of your event. You can select 1 Appetiser and up to 6/7 varieties of Pizza and 2 Desserts from our extensive menu. We will cook and serve unlimited gourmet pizzas for yourself and your guests. You can choose between buffet-style (help yourself) or wait service (wait staff walking & serving guests). Buffet style requires that guests come and serve themselves from our long front counter table.
[If you have your own buffet table you would like us to place our food onto, then we will need an additional staff member to run between our front counter and your buffet table & additionally to service the buffet throughout the party.]
Please visit our gallery page for the look of our typical, temporary setup. We will set up and service this all throughout your event, so that you can focus on entertaining your guests and enjoying the party while we take care of the rest!
For private and corporate functions, we bring along our 2.5m table top, covered with a black table cloth to use as our front counter (doubling as the buffet table as required), and we surround our set up with long red or black curtains. We provide eco-friendly plates and napkins: pink salt, pepper grinder, fresh chilli, herbs & house made oils, all free of charge – for your guests to use at their leisure.
We serve the pizza on silver trays with a paper square. We also provide cake servers for the ease of lifting out the pizza pieces.
Your selected menu will be printed out stylishly, onto an A5 paper & attached to a rustic style wooden clipboard. So that your guests are able to see for themselves the treats we will be serving.
However, all of that said, we’re more than happy to work within your theme. We will happily use the serving items you provide such as crockery, coloured napkins and so on. Also, we are very willing to have our marquee and service area decorated in the style of your party. We would love to speak with you – or your stylist – in advance to discuss possible setup options, if this is your preference.
If you wish to add food items from the ‘additional options’ and ‘further options’ menu section, just add these prices to your original quote. We are always more than happy to speak with you about these options and/or your own menu ideas.
What is the maximum number of guests you can serve?
We have so far confidently catered wedding receptions of over 150 guests. We recommend starting with an antipasto appetiser, especially for larger parties. As, although the wood fired pizzas do cook really fast, guests should expect pizzas to be served over the duration of the function, rather than all at once. Please contact us for more specific details when planning your own private or corporate function.
How much wood-fired pizza do we get?
We ask – how much can you eat?! Typically we allocate the same number of pizzas as number of guests. In our experience, this has always been just the right amount. However, we’re always happy to add more to your quote. We’ll work with you.
What can I expect on the day of the event?
Pizza Fusion | Sunshine Coast will arrive around an hour and a half early to setup ready for service. Our team will prepare for full service or buffet style as pre-arranged. We usually feed guests for about 1.5-2 hours; however, this can become 4 hours, as service times can vary depending on the number of courses and the size of your party and requirements. Whatever you need!
At the conclusion of service time, we will clean up our fully self-sufficient kitchen and take everything with us (no mess!). Only possibly leaving behind a selection of our gourmet wood fired pizzas for you to later eat at your leisure. Any pizzas paid for and not used we box up and leave for our hosts to eat or distribute amongst remaining guests, when the ‘late night munchies’ hit!
How does pizza fit into my formal function or event?
Almost everyone loves pizza. And when pizza catering is done well, we’ve found that our catering can complement any type of function. We will work with you to customise a menu, look and serving style that’s perfect for your planned party. From antipasto appetisers and gourmet pizzas to wood-fired delicious desserts and any other further additions required; Pizza Fusion will deliver with style! Our rustic-elegant kitchen setup and striking wood-fired oven are unmatched by traditional catering. There’s something about great food and a good-looking fire that entices people to relax, laugh and mingle. We have catered many types of functions of all sizes, from intimate and simple parties; to elaborate weddings of more than 150 guests. We take every possible step to ensure that your special event will be a unique success that is more memorable because we were there.
What happens if it rains?
We have a large gazebo with removable walls and can operate in moderate rain & wind. We will always make every effort to cater your function as scheduled. If harsh weather conditions prevent this, we will gladly discuss rescheduling or an alternative option that is mutually agreeable.
What happens if I need to cancel or reschedule?
We hope this doesn’t happen! But if it does, we’re real people. We understand that Life Happens. If you need to cancel your booking, we will retain your deposit, but will refund any payments you have made toward the balance oweing.
Rescheduling the date is more than likely possible, if we have the alternate date available. However, each case will be determined individually and we ask for as much notice as you are able to provide.

How far do you travel?
We serve the entire Sunshine Coast and Hinterland areas. We bring our Mobile Wood Fired Pizza Catering to: Beerwah, Boreen Point, Bribie Island, Brisbane, Buderim, Burpengary, Caloundra, Chevallum, Coolum Beach, Cooran, Cooroy, Cotton Tree, Eudlo, Eumundi, Gympie, Kenilworth, Kin Kin, Kings Beach, Lake Macdonald, Landsborough, Maleny, Mapleton, Marcus Beach, Maroochydore, Montville, Mooloolaba, Mothar Mountain, Mountain Creek, Mudjimba, Nambour, Noosa Heads, North Arm, Palmwoods, Peregian Beach, Point Arkwright, Point Cartwright, Pomona, Strathpine, Sunshine Beach, Tewantin, The Gap, Tinbeerwah, Verrierdale, Warana, Woombye, Yandina and their surrounding suburbs. Please ask for our function pricing minimums, to have a general idea of our pricing in these areas.
How much advance notice do you require for an event?
The earlier the better. We find ourselves booked months in advance for prime weekends and at least a year in advance for popular wedding months. We recommend that you secure our catering as soon as you know the date of your event. Contact us as soon as possible to ensure you secure us for the date of your function. Events are booked on a first come first served basis. A 25% deposit is required to reserve the date of your event.
How fast do your gourmet wood-fired pizzas cook?
Our all wood-burning, 350-400˚C oven, cooks the pizzas in under three minutes, and it can cook up to 5 dinner plate sized pizzas at a time.
Can you tell me about the ingredients you use?
You will be happy to note EVERYTHING is fresh.
Both Aleta and I have catering backgrounds as well as chefing (Aleta) and gourmet butchery (Allan).
The meats we use are hormone-free, free range chicken & lamb; pepperoni, salami, ham and bacon we buy in locally. Gluten free and low additives.
The seafood we choose is Australian/NZ. All sauces, marinades and dough bases we make ourselves. The vegetables we buy from local producers, local grocers, Yandina and Noosa Farmer’s markets.
We can include gluten free bases as required. Our Zehnder pizza bases come from a very local gluten free bakery. They’ve proven themselves as delicious and not bland nor dry, like many of the GF bases we’ve come across. However, as we primarily use flour dough, we cannot guarantee to be 100% gluten free for coeliacs.
We have confidently catered for many folks with varied dietary requirements. Please let us know if any of your guests need special consideration before your event, and we’re sure to be able to accommodate.
Coeliac vs gluten intolerant
As our catering business is primarily based around wheat flour pizza bases, there’s always the chance of flour being present at all times in our kitchen set up. That said, we always endeavour to remove any traces of flour and semolina before we cook our gluten free bases by:
– Cleaning down our counters, washing our hands, changing gloves, brushing out our oven, using gluten free bases & polenta (corn based), using fresh peels and trays & keeping our pizza toppings separated.
So, although we do our best to ensure our gluten free pizzas are gluten free, we can not 100% guarantee they will be safe for coeliac sensitivities.
We will provide your gluten free guests with delicious locally made Zehnder gluten free bases.
Does your oven give off a lot of smoke?
No, there is virtually no smoke while cooking. However, when adding wood to sustain the high temperatures, there will be minimal smoke for the first few minutes.
How much space does your setup require?
The oven trailer alone is 3.5m long by 2m wide. We need approximately 5m x 6m of flat level ground outdoors, for our oven and kitchen with marquee, to be fully set up.
Our handmade, woodfire oven is mounted on a trailer which we tow into position with a car. It, therefore, cannot be moved up or down stairs, ledges or pathways. It is also important that access roads leading to and from the site are suitable for a car (not 4WD) plus a trailer.
We welcome you to come along to get an impression of our setup first hand at one of our local – and much more casual – pizza take-away nights. Currently Friday nights in Doonan.

Can you recommend other function suppliers?
Yes! We’ve been catering for a while now and have made a lot of wonderful connections in the world of events, parties and weddings. We know photographers, venues, musicians, other caterers etc… We can either recommend to you or organise other suppliers for you. Please just ask us! We’re always happy to help.

Ahhh, we’re happy you asked. There are several reasons actually.
